A new Federal Government campaign will for the first time advertise about the risk of vaping on Tik Tok.

The Give Up For Good campaign is the first national population-wide smoking campaign produced in 10 years and the first time the Australian Government has advertised to the public about the risks and harms of vaping.

Federal Health Minister Mark Butler said it was also the first time TikTok would be used in an Australian Government campaign.

Minister Butler said campaign included four separate, but complementary creative approaches, which would raise awareness of the health harms of smoking and vaping and encouraged Australians to take advantage of newly-expanded quit support services.

He said the four streams of advertising would target young people who vape, adults who vape, adults who smoke and First Nations adults who smoke.

“Dedicated resources have been developed for teachers, parents and carers of young Australians, including a fact sheet, frequently asked questions and conversation guide,” Minister Butler said.
