Queenslanders have less than a month to have their say on the shape of the Brisbane 2032 Brisbane and Paralympic Games.

Developers, architects, environmentalists, sporting bodies, community groups and any other vested group or individual will need to battle Christmas food comas and New Year hangovers to finalise and submit their views by the January 10 deadline.

The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority, which is conducting a 100 Day Review of Games infrastructure and planning, started accepting submissions on December 10 and sent an email blast yesterday to remind Queenslanders to have their say.

The Authority stated submissions must be submitted by 11.59pm, January 10, via the Submissions Portal.

“Any other feedback will not be considered,” it stated.

The Authority will submit its Review Report to the State Government by March 8.

In case you need a reminder, this is what the review will consider:

  • Proposed and existing venues and villages and their feasibility alongside Games use, long term use, transport connectivity and systems.
  • Critical transport projects to be constructed prior to the Games, ensuring alignment with long-term mobility and transport strategies.
  • The Games entities’ roles and responsibilities to deliver the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“After the review and decision-making process, the Authority will work with Games Delivery Partners to progress matters in line with the Queensland Government’s response to the Review Report,” it stated.
