New commemorative $2 coins have been released to coincide with the Australian Tennis Open, currently underway in Melbourne.

Australia Post has partnered with the Royal Australian Mint to deliver the Men’s and Women’s Australian Open 2025 coloured coins.

Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail Josh Bannister said the collectable coins would join the Australian Open MyStamp collection, the first to be produced in over 10 years, as a celebration of 120 years of the Australian Open.

Mr Bannister said the $2 coins, which retail for $12 each, would be available online and at participating Post Offices in two coloured designs, to represent both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments.

“We know how much Australians enjoy the summer tennis season, especially when it’s on home turf. We are proud to collaborate with Tennis Australia and the Royal Australian Mint to commemorate such a rich history of the much-loved sport with collectable coins,” he said.

Royal Australian Mint Chief Executive Officer Leigh Gordon said sport was widely believed to be integral to the Australian identity.

“The Mint prides itself in telling the Australian story (and) we are very excited to have a coin that celebrates 120 years of the iconic Australian Open,” Mr Gordon said.
