Wellways Australia’s Louise Faulkner has been appointed to the Queensland Carers Advisory Council.

Ms Faulkner is the national service delivery manager for Wellways Carer Gateway, which provides support to thousands of carers across Queensland and New South Wales.

Based in Brisbane, Ms Faulkner joins other recent additions to the 12-member council Fritha Radyk and Melissa Burke.

Ms Radyk was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Carers Queensland late last year and takes on the position of Council chair, while Ms Burke works for the Department of Education as the executive director of student diversity, disability and inclusion.

The Queensland Carers Advisory Council was established in 2009 to advise the Disability Services Minister and represents more than 500,000 carers across Queensland.

State Disability Services Minister Charis Mullen said council members were drawn from across Queensland and reflected the diversity of carers, sharing their wealth of knowledge and lived experiences.
