The infrastructure plan for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be released to the public on March 25.
Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie said the State Government would announce its Games Delivery Plan on that day, alongside the final report from the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority.
Deputy Premier Bleijie said the Authority had received more than 5000 submissions to its 100-day review of Games infrastructure needs, with its report due to be handed to the Government on Saturday, March 8.
“Following consultation with the International Olympic Committee, the President of the Organising Committee, the local government host city and the Commonwealth Government, Cabinet will then sign off on the Delivery Plan on Monday, March 24,” he said.
Deputy Premier Bleijie with a Delivery Plan guided by the experts, “Queenslanders won’t be embarrassed on the world stage.”
He said the Government was focused on delivering generational infrastructure and a world class event.
“(We) will deliver generational infrastructure, a 20-year tourism plan and an Olympics and Paralympic Games all Queenslanders will be proud of.”
