The Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel is the first full-service internationally-branded hotel to open on the Sunshine Coast in four decades.
Owned and operated by Queensland-based KPAT Hotels under franchise with Minor Hotels, it will open on May 11, 2026 and bookings are now available.
The 12-story property has 180 rooms, a rooftop pool and restaurant, spa and fitness centre, lobby bar, and dedicated events floor for 250 guests.
Former The Calile Hotel, Brisbane chef Mark Godbeer will helm the rooftop restaurant, Sully’s.
KPAT Hotels Managing Director Kenneth Wagner said the project responded to demand from domestic and international travellers who recognised the Sunshine coast as a leisure and business destination.
“The Sunshine Coast has experienced sustained tourism growth over the past decade, supported by airport expansion, population growth and continued infrastructure investment,” Mr Wagner said in a statement.
“However, the region has not seen a new full-service internationally branded hotel of this scale in four decades, with much of the region’s existing accommodation stock consisting of apartment-style properties.”
Once operational, the property is expected to support around 200 ongoing hospitality jobs.
