A proposed Paddington development has one eye on the Brisbane 2032 Games, with 31 short-stay suites in the plans.

The mixed-use development aims to maximise the inner-western suburb’s proximity to the city’s sports and entertainment precincts of Suncorp Stadium and the proposed Brisbane Live venue in Roma St.

P&MV Constructions and Core Property Partners have submitted plans to Brisbane City Council for a four-storey boutique residential and short term accommodation development at 208-220 Given Terrace.

The plans include 12 apartments and 31 short-stay suites and an activated laneway named Hanlon Lane, after Michael Edward “Ned” Hanlon, a former Queensland Premier.

The plans indicate a design by David Hansford, of DAH Architecture, which draws inspiration from the suburb’s unique ‘tin and timber’ homes and Brisbane’s contemporary sub-tropical lifestyle.

The development application shows a five-storey boutique residential building, set back from the character facade, which will house 12 three-bedroom apartments and provide, rooftop amenities and views over the Brisbane CBD and Paddington Hill.

A second four-storey building, connected by the laneway, will comprise 31 short-stay heritage suites.
