Thousands of Queensland tourism operators have received the stamp of approval from Tourism and Events Queensland.
The Best of Queensland Experience mark, which is awarded based on a set of industry criteria, has been assigned to more than 2300 of the state’s tourism products, with over 530 receiving perfect scores during the assessment.
Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the program’s exacting criteria was comprehensive, to highlight the best of the best.
“As Queensland gears up to showcase its tourism offerings in the green and gold runway to the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics, 2341 Queensland tourism products have received the industry’s highly sought-after recognition,” Minister Powell said.
He said this year’s successful Best of Queensland Experience recipients included tourism operators from all 13 tourism regions in the State across accommodation, attractions, food and drink, hire, tour, transport and general services.
“Of the operators recognised this year, 534 were top performers receiving perfect scores of 100/100 points, while 84 operators received a perfect Review Pro Global Review Index score of 100.”
Mr Powell said the nation-leading program showed travellers how many of the state’s operators offered a superior product.
“The bar is high, and this is done deliberately to show travellers from all over the world that Queensland really does offer a world-class holiday.
“Carrying the industry’s Best of Queensland Experience stamp is a significant achievement, and the operators who have secured this have gone above and beyond to offer an all-round outstanding experience for visitors to our great State.”
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson said businesses were rated on an independent set of criteria that included the consistent delivery of an exceptional experience based on positive customer reviews, websites with secure online booking, social media presence, RTO membership and Accreditation.
Mr Davidson said the number of tourism businesses offering an online booking platform had more than doubled in the past five years from 1671 to 3438.
“This significant uptake in tourism capability shows the importance of the program in setting best practice criteria for businesses to strive towards,” he said.
“Having an online platform that allows customers to book directly and receive instant confirmation is a vital part of the customer experience journey, which is a key part of the program.”
Mr Davidson said being named a Best of Queensland Experience meant the business could use the official stamp of recognition in marketing, allowing potential travellers to easily identify them.
