Queensland has been recognised as one of Australia’s top destinations at the 2025 Australian Tourism Awards, clinching six gold, three silver and three bronze awards in one of the State’s best hauls.
The awards include Queensland gold winners for the Best Festival & Event – Birdsville Big Red Bash; Best Tourism Restaurant & Catering Service – Sea World Cruises; and Best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experience – Cape York Peninsula Lodge.
Other gold winners were Best Tour & Transport Operators – Fun Over 50 Holidays – Immersive Tours and Adventures; Best Caravan & Holiday Park – BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort; and Best Five-star Luxury Accommodation – The Reef House Adults Retreat.
Silver awards went to Beef Australia 2024 for Major Festivals & Events; Quilpie Visitor Information Centre, Museum & Gallery for their Visitor Information Services and Pinnacles, Airlie Beach for their self-contained Accommodation.
Bronze was given to Ocean Rafting for their Major Tour & Transport Operations; Acquascene Magnetic Island for Adventure Tourism; and Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort for their 4-4.5 Star Deluxe Accommodation.
Queensland Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said the results were a testament to the dedication, innovation, and resilience of the State’s tourism sector.
“A huge congratulations to our tourism operators who showcase the best of what Queensland has to offer,” Mr Powell said.
“While it’s been a challenging time due to recent weather events, Queensland is very much open for business and ready for tourists to visit once more.
“Tourism is not just a holiday, it’s a vital part of our economy, with the industry employing one in 12 Queenslanders and contributing $95 million every day.
