More than 800 Australians have been recognised for their achievements in the 2025 King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List.
Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn revealed the names of 830 recipients over the weekend, including 14 appointments as Companions of the Order of Australia and 31 as Officers of the Order of Australia.
Among the Companions of the Order of Australia were Queenslanders Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, for service to marine science, particularly the research, conservation and management of coral reef ecosystems, and to tertiary education; and Catherine Martin, honoured for service to the arts, to costume, production and set design, and to fostering emerging artistic talent.
There were 123 appointments as Members of the Order of Australia, 413 people awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia, and 149 Meritorious awards including recipients of the Public Service Medal, the Australian Police Medal, the Australian Fire Service Medal, the Ambulance Service Medal, the Emergency Services Medal, the Australian Corrections Medal and the Australian Intelligence Medal.
In addition, there were 36 recipients of awards in the Military Division of the Order of Australia (3 AO, 10 AM and 23 OAM), and 64 distinguished and conspicuous awards.
