Queensland Ballet Executive Director Dilshani Weerasinghe is leaving the role next week after 11 years.

Ms Weerasinghe joined the Company in 2011 and became Executive Director in 2015.

In a statement released on LinkedIn, Queensland Ballet said Ms Weerasinghe had played a pivotal role in Queensland Ballet’s growth and transformation.

“Her leadership has contributed to the expansion of our Company, the growth of our Academy, the establishment of our Community Health Institute, the redevelopment of the Thomas Dixon Centre, and the strengthening of our community of audiences, donors and supporters,” the statement said.

“We thank Dilshani for her extraordinary contribution and wish her every success in her next chapter with Shiny Eyes Advisory.”

Artistic Director Ivan Gil-Ortega will step into the interim role of Artistic Director and CEO while the Board finalises executive leadership arrangements for 2027.
