Christopher Mountford has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Brisbane Housing Company (BHC).
Mr Mountford is currently the CEO of Independent Schools Queensland and was previously the Executive Director of the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia.
BHC is a community housing provider that develops, owns, and manages safe, long-term social and affordable housing.
Mr Mountford’s appointment was announced by the Luminary executive search company.
Luminary described him as “an experienced chief executive with more than 20 years of leadership, public policy and stakeholder engagement experience across Queensland’s for-purpose, education and property sectors”.
Mr Mountford said he was thrilled to be joining BHC.
“BHC has built an outstanding reputation for delivering safe, affordable housing and for making a genuine difference in the lives of Queenslanders,” he said.
“I have enormous respect for the organisation, its people and its purpose, and I look forward to working with the Board, staff, residents and partners to lead BHC into its next chapter.
“At a time when increasing the supply of affordable housing has never been more important, BHC has a critical role to play in helping create stronger, more inclusive communities, and I am excited to be part of that journey.”
