Invest Gold Coast Chair Will Hodgman will be heading up the M1 to take the reins of the Trade and Investment Queensland Board.
Queensland Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Minister Ros Bates said Mr Hodgman, the Premier of Tasmania between 2014 and 2020, would replace outgoing chair Daniel Gschwind.
Minister Bates said Mr Hodgam, who also served as the High Commissioner of Australia to Singapore from 2021 and 2032, was appointed the inaugural Chair of Invest Gold Coast, which facilitates major investments and trade on the Gold Coast, in October last year.
“I look forward to working with Will, who brings deep international insights and expertise, having served as Australia’s top diplomat and trade and investment agent to one of our most important regional partners,” she said.
“His experience will be essential for opening more markets for Queensland businesses to grow.”
