Former Paralympics Australia CEO Catherine Clarke is the new Queensland Racing Integrity Commissioner.

Ms Clarke, who resigned from her position at Paralympics Australia less than two months before the Paris Paralympics this year, is part of a new leadership team for the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC).

State Racing Minister Grace Grace said Ms Clark would join Chantal Raine, a new permanent Deputy Racing Integrity Commissioner.

Minister Grace said Kim Kelly had been temporarily appointed as Acting Deputy Racing Integrity Commissioner, pending a recruitment process to permanently fill the role.

She said the QRIC independently regulated integrity and the welfare of racing animals in Queensland’s three racing codes (thoroughbreds, harness and greyhounds).

“Catherine Clark is an exceptional leader and brings a wealth of experience to the Commissioner role, most recently as the chief executive officer of Paralympics Australia.

“Chantal Raine and Kim Kelly also bring strong skills and experience to their roles.”

Ms Raine has been acting as Deputy Racing Integrity Commissioner since March 2024, while Mr Kelly is an internationally renowned Steward who was Chief Stipendiary Steward of the Hong Kong Jockey Club from 2009 to 2023.
