King Frederik X and Queen Mary will tour parts of Australia next month as part of their fourth official visit since taking over the Danish Throne in 2024.
For Queen Mary, it is a chance to come home. She was born Mary Donaldson in Tasmania, and married the then-Crown Prince Frederik in 2004.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the royals would tour from March 14 to 19, 2026.
“During their six-day visit, Their Majesties will visit the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania, for a number of business and cultural engagements,” he said.
“Denmark and Australia are great friends, and together we are working to build a more sustainable, secure and peaceful future.”
