A free live site for the FIFA World Cup has been set up in the Cultural Forecourt at Brisbane’s South Bank.

The site will screen all Socceroos matches, while also airing other matches featuring Germany, Brazil and the Netherlands.

The Socceroos will face Turkey, USA and Paraguay in Group D.

Premier David Crisafulli said, as well as giving people access to matches on a big screen, the live site would encourage locals and visitors to experience more of the city.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane knew how to turn major sporting moments into city-wide celebrations and South Bank was the perfect place to bring football fans together.

“From lunch by the river to World Cup action on the big screen, we’re encouraging everyone to make a day of it and enjoy the best of Brisbane while backing local business and embracing 50 cent fares,” he said.

Fans are encouraged to check the website for event details, including opening times, transport, and entry guidelines.
