Hearing and seeing the stories of our country told in the skies will be a highlight of a star-studded festival on the Sunshine Coast.
The Biosphere Festival, which runs from October 29 to November 8, allows people to immerse themselves in the best of the Sunshine Coast Biosphere.
Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli, who is also Chair of the Biosphere Coordinating Committee, said the Festival had a range of events from stargazing to film screenings.
Mayor Natoli said tickets were now available for three headline events, the Dark Sky Experience, the On Country Cultural Tour and a Future Council film screening.
She said the Dark Sky Experience provided insights into region’s night skies and efforts to protect them from light pollution, with European stargazing and First Nations sky stories part of the evening.
“Where else could you experience the beauty of our night sky, through both astronomy and First Nations stories of Sky Country?”
Mayor Natoli said the Festival was a celebration of being able to live in the Sunshine Coast Biosphere.
“Through events like these, together, we can explore ways of living that help us care for our environment, belong to a thriving community, grow our local economy and create a sustainable planet.”
