The Queensland Government has released guidelines for the next round of the Residential Activation Fund.
The latest funding tranche, of $500 million, is designed to remove barriers to residential development by funding “trunk” and essential infrastructure such as water, sewerage, roads, and power.
At least half of the funding will be allocated to projects in regional areas.
The updated guidelines provide information for councils and industry on eligibility criteria and requirements for applicants, with applications to open in the coming weeks.
Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jarrod Bleijie said the government had already invested nearly $1 billion for new infrastructure projects and unlocked land for more than 98,000 new homes across the state.
“I strongly encourage councils and industry with shovel-ready projects to begin preparing now for applications to open,” he said.
