An advisory group to guide accessibility and inclusion initiatives for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics is being created.
The Games Venue and Legacy Delivery Authority (GVLDA) is calling for people, including those with disability, to nominate for positions on the Accessibility and Inclusion Program Advisory Group.
GVLDA Interim CEO Emma Thomas said the group would help drive changes in accessibility and inclusion for the Games and beyond, working with the Authority to make the Games a catalyst for change.
Ms Thomas said the Advisory Group would advise GVLDA’s Accessibility and Inclusion Program Steering Committee on new participation opportunities in sport, recreation, employment and lifestyle.
She said those being sought included people with lived experience of disability and accessibility and inclusion experts.
“GVLDA is targeting opportunities, through the Games, to make Queensland communities more accessible and inclusive for people with disability in all aspects of life.”
Nominations for the Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Group close on October 25.
