Primary school students in Queensland will receive a $100 credit on their school account today as part of a State Government plan to ease cost pressures on families.
The “Back to School Boost” was listed in the latest State Budget and will be provided once a year to all students from Prep to Year 6, including children who attend a special school or are home schooled.
A $100 credit will be applied to school accounts for students attending state schools.
The non-state school sector will be responsible for administration of the money, including how it can be applied to reduce fees or other related school costs.
Parents can choose to use the credit on the cost of items or activities offered by their schools, such as camps, excursions, incursions and extracurricular activities, stationery, uniforms, or excellence programs.
