A raft of leading finance executives will share their insights at this year’s Queensland Finance Summit.

Hosted by the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI), the summit, to be held at The Star Brisbane on May 21, will cover a range of topics, from the impacts of the new US administration to the need to accelerate this state’s productivity growth.

QFI CEO Steve Greenwood said the summit was a unique opportunity for sector stakeholders to discuss Queensland’s future.

Mr Greenwood said the expert panel would include Australian Retirement Trust CEO David Anderson, Brighter Super CEO Kate Farrar, People First Bank CEO Steve Laidlaw, QIC CEO Kylie Rampa, Suncorp Bank CEO Bruce Rush and Suncorp Group Chief Risk Officer Bridget Messer, with PwC Partner Scott Ferguson moderating.

“This event will showcase collaborative thought leadership and high-level discussions on industry growth, investment, and policy innovation critical to Queensland,” he said.

Mr Greenwood said the event would be attended by more than 300 people, with many key figures from the state’s finance sector also in the audience.

He said the impacts of the change of government in the US on the local financial services sector would be among the topics discussed.

“Our panel of experts will also look at Queensland’s public infrastructure pipeline and private sector investment and discuss ways to boost productivity growth and grow the financial services sector to support that growth across the state.”

Ticket sales close on Monday, May 12.
