The Socceroos may have secured a spot in the World Cup, but they are now searching for a new naming rights sponsor.
After a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia last week secured them direct entry into the FIFA showpiece in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year, it was announced Subway’s three-year deal with the national team would end in August.
Interim Football Australia CEO Heather Garriock said with both organisations entering new strategic phases, the decision to conclude the sponsorship was made jointly.
“Subway has been a fantastic partner to work with, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together,” Ms Garriock said.
“Their support has helped us elevate the Socceroos brand, enhance our national teams program on and off the field, and elevate the sport to new heights.”
She said having joined Football Australia in September 2022, Subway had been a partner through some of Australia’s most iconic moments, including two record-breaking World Cup performances and a period of “unprecedented growth in participation across the country”.
