Whether you delight in native flavours, charcoal BBQs or fancy a musical extravaganza with your long lunch, The Curated Plate Food & Drink Festival has something for you.
The Sunshine Coast’s premier food and drink festival has just released its menu of delights and there are 90 temptations on offer across the region, between July 26 and August 4.
Food lovers can look forward to mouth-watering experiences on a farm, under the stars, by the seaside, next to a majestic mountain, on a boat, in a distillery as well as at some of the Sunshine Coast’s most well-known, well-loved and award-winning restaurants.
This year’s 10-day festival program features three signature events, including two new additions.
The Sunny Coast Breweries & Distilleries Festival will showcase “Australia’s Craft Beer Capital’ with a tantalising range of craft beer and premium spirits in a relaxed festival atmosphere at Cotton Tree Park, on the banks of the Maroochy River, on July 27 and 28.
Held in partnership with national event organiser GABS, fashion and fun will meet flavour and taste, with the best artisan drinks and foods from the Sunshine Coast on show.
Another signature event is a unique one-off food market for families and food lovers, held at the Coast’s newest venue, The Station, next to Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre.
The event will open its doors to more than 70 stallholders showcasing the Sunshine Coast’s finest local products and give patrons the chance to fill up their pantries and indulge in a diverse array of flavours and delights.
With the support of the Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN), stalls will showcase Sunshine Coast farm-made produce including handcrafted cheeses, artisanal breads and pastries, boutique chocolates, grass-fed beef and lamb, local honey, premium coffee and tea.
Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli said it was time for the region’s cooks and chefs to shine.
Mayor Natoli said that during The Curated Plate, local culinary masters would be serving up delicious dishes, featuring homegrown produce and products.
“This event provides the opportunity for our region to showcase its fantastic offerings,” Mayor Natoli said.
“This ranges from our plentiful produce to an array of stunning restaurants and our amazing producers.
“More than 200 businesses from across the region’s food and agribusiness sector and tourism and hospitality industry have worked together to prepare the 10-day food and drink showcase that has more than 90 delicious events to choose from.”
