South-East Queensland palates are set to be tantalised, with The Sunshine Coast Curated Plate Food and Drink Festival gearing up for another serving.

For 10 days from July 26, Sunshine Coast businesses will put on 90 events across the region, with three signature events on this year’s program.

One of the marquee events, the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival at Maleny’s Spicers Tamarind in the hinterland, has been expanded to a two-day feast on August 3 and 4, after selling out early last year.

Chefs Tom Hitchcock, Peter Kuravita and Cam Matthews will be at the heart of the program this year as event ambassadors and will join celebrity cook Hayden Quinn for a special Chefs in Conversation event at Altitude Ninein Maroochydore’s City Centre.

The Sunshine Coast Council initiative will celebrate local produce and producers, with a host of local suppliers on show, such as Woombye Cheese, PineCo Pineapples, Sun Valley Bacon Jam and Green Valley Fingerlimes.

The local fare will star at some of the Sunshine Coast’s most well-known and award-winning restaurants, including Tiffany’s Maleny, Spirit House, Spice Bar, Bella Venezia, Harry’s on Buderim, Spicers Clovelly Estate, Fish on Parkyn, The Long Apron and the Mapleton Pub.

Sunshine Coast Council’s Head of Economic Development Chris Le Serve said the festival was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate across the region’s food and agribusiness sector, and tourism and hospitality industry.

“It is a showcase of the region’s talented chefs, local producers of quality fresh food and the makers of beverages who are winning awards all over the world,” Mr Le Serve said.

Food lovers can enjoy a variety of experiences across the festival including cooking classes, culinary cruises, degustation dinners, long lunches and brunches, farm tours, high teas and more.

Subscribe for festival news at the curated plate website or follow on the socials for ticketing information, with another two signature events and the full event program to be announced later in April.
