Brisbane’s Paniyiri Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a long-table dining experience on the Goodwill Bridge.
The bridge will close for the multi-course feast celebrating the flavours, hospitality and traditions of Greece on Thursday May 7 at 6.30pm. For tickets, click here.
Along with the main festival, which will be celebrated on May 23 and 24 at Musgrave Park, West End, there will be a number of events in the lead-up.
It starts on May 2 with a production of The Girl from Greece: Our Big Fat Greek Café Tour which celebrates Hellenic culture through story and song. Kreas & Krasi Lamb Degustation is a six-course Greek-inspired menu with six wines at The Greek Club, Nostimo Ice on May 23 from 6pm. For tickets, click here.
My Big Fat Greek Lunch is a shared-style banquet of classic Greek favourites, reimagined with a contemporary touch. On Sunday, May 24 at noon, The Greek Club, Nostimo Tce. For tickets click here.
Chroma and Krasi is a Greek-inspired Paint and Sip experience that combines creativity, culture and community. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the festival, guests will capture the colour and energy of Paniyiri on canvas with guided painting in a relaxed atmosphere. Kids Kouzina has been created especially for young food lovers. Dietitician Liz Borgo will host this interactive class for children aged six to 12 to teach the much-loved Greek classic Tiropita (Greek Cheese Pie).
