The new $5.8 million Samford Parklands Village Green is now open for public use.
The parkland has open lawns, picnic shelters, children’s play spaces and walking paths.
It was funded by the Federal Government’s Thriving Suburbs Program in partnership with City of Moreton Bay.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the project created a space where the community could come together for “life’s celebrations”.
“Samford Parklands Village Green now has open lawn areas for gatherings and events, barbecue and picnic facilities and landscaped gardens with shade trees,” Cr Flannery said.
“It’s a beautiful setting and a place where memories can be made for many years to come.”
The green was created based on community feedback in 2020 and 2021.
Samford is a rural community located about 22km northwest of Brisbane.
