A couple from Loganholme discovered their $1.6 million Gold Lotto win while casually scrolling through Facebook.
The Queensland residents made the life-changing revelation after winning the Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4683 with a 25-game QuickPick from IGA Loganholme.
Their entry wasn’t registered, so officials had to wait for the ticket holders to check their ticket and come forward for the total prize of $1,618,088.73.
The winning woman said she was in shock when an official from The Lott confirmed her win.
“The newsagency we purchased the ticket from had posted on their Facebook page that they sold a division one winning entry over the weekend and it reminded me that we purchased a ticket,” she said.
“We are still trying to process it all. There will be some celebrations for sure.”
She said they were going to buy their own home and put some of the winnings away for their children’s futures.
IGA Loganholme owner Darrell Dhnaram said his team was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s first division one winning entry.
“It’s incredibly exciting for our team to know one of our customers has had such a life-changing win,” Mr Dhnaram said.
“We hope this win brings plenty of joy to the lucky ticketholder and their family, and we’ll certainly be celebrating the news with our local community.”
