From BMX workshops to storytelling, hundreds of free school holiday events have been listed on the Brisbane City Council website.

Council said 70 percent of the more than 450 events on offer were free over the two-week spring holidays, which started this weekend.

BMX and bike fans can test their skills on brand-new tracks including the Brisbane International Cycle Park in Murarrie, to Glindemann Park in Holland Park and the Urban Pump track in Herston.

Council said for the first time, seniors and kids could enjoy aqua fitness classes as part of the GOLD’n’Kids program, while more than 120 Active and Healthy sessions would also run across the city, giving children the chance to learn new skills including basketball, yoga and fishing.

Brisbane’s 33 libraries will host more than 120 free creative workshops, covering everything from cartooning to coding.
