Expressions of interest for the delivery partner for the Brisbane 2032 infrastructure rollout will be accepted from noon today.

Queensland Deputy Premier and State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Minister Jarrod Bleijie announced the EOI opening at a Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) Industry Briefing this morning (August 1).

Deputy Premier Bleijie said the delivery partner would support GIICA in providing a broad range of program management services critical for the delivery of 2032 Games venues infrastructure program.

He said Registrations of Interest (ROI) would also open today for organisations in the design and construction sector to work with GIICA on the delivery of the 17 new and upgraded venues.

“This is important to identify the market capacity and labour workforce needs,” he told more than 1500 stakeholders at the briefing.

Deputy Premier Bleijie said the procurement of a delivery partner was a critical step in delivering venues and “getting shovels in the ground” for the Games infrastructure program.

“Significant infrastructure projects use a delivery partner model to ensure venues are built on time and on budget and we have no time to waste.”

GIICA Chairman Stephen Conry said the Industry Briefing and the release of the ROI and EOI represented important steps on the path forward together as an industry.

“Momentum continues and today’s announcements are yet another sign of the acceleration to 2032,” Mr Conry said.

“No matter how you cut the numbers, the economic and social benefits of building for the Games and then hosting the event are outstanding,” he said.

“Billions of dollars in economic uplift for Queenslanders across tourism, trade and quantifiable social benefits for residents when our city and our state are broadcast into more than 200 countries across the world.”

Mr Conroy said the ROI would close in 2 weeks and organisations could apply through QTenders or the GIICA website.

He said the EOI for a GIICA Delivery Partner would close in 2 weeks, with GIICA aiming to have the successful applicant in place by the end of 2025.

“Again, interested organisations can apply through QTenders or the GIICA website.”
