Brazil will play two matches against the Socceroos in Queensland to mark the soccer World Cup homecoming.
The matches will be played in Brisbane and Townsville in September following the completion of FIFA World Cup 2026.
In a statement, the Queensland Government said the international series was expected to inject millions of dollars into the Queensland economy.
The matches will be the first played by the Socceroos on home soil following their World Cup campaign.
The game will be held at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on September 25, 2026 and Suncorp Stadium on September 29, 2026.
The teams will participate in community events and activities in Queensland including public training sessions, fan engagement sessions and local club engagement programs.
Minister for Tourism Andrew Powell said the event demonstrated the value of the government’s investment in major events.
“This is the kind of event that gets kids kicking a football in the backyard, fills hotel rooms, supports local businesses and puts Queensland on the global stage,” he said.
“Importantly, these matches won’t just be played in one city. Queenslanders will see the benefits across both North Queensland and South East Queensland.”
Football Australia CEO Martin Kugeler said having Brazil come to Australia to play the Socceroos was a significant moment for Australian football and for fans across the country.
“These marquee fixtures are key in our strategy – to inspire our football fans, young and old, across Australia and to showcase the strength and ambition of our national teams at the highest level,” Mr Kugeler said.
Tickets go on presale from Wednesday July 1, 2026 and to the general public from 1pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
