Brisbane’s innovators will join the 2026 Inspiring Women in STEM networking breakfast on Thursday at PwC.

The Women in Technology (WIT) event will highlight the journeys and insights of PwC’s Chief Information Officer Charmaine Chalmers and QUT Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader Dr Jacqui McGovern.

Ms Chalmers has more than 10 years’ experience as technology leader and Partner at PwC where she leads a team of developers, data scientists and business analysts pioneering AI transformation and strategy internally and externally.

Dr McGovern develops advanced models of human tissues to study cancer, bone healing, and regeneration.

Her research focuses on bone and tumour microenvironments, safer local delivery of chemotherapy, and biomaterial-based strategies to improve treatment and patient outcomes.

The breakfast has been designed to connect like-minded professionals, with opportunities to network before and after.

It will be hosted and moderated by Iyari Cevallos, who has more than 15 years global experience in the resource, banking, telco, energy, and tourism sectors.

She has a track record of operational performance, digital transformation change, governance, and risk management in the public and private sectors.
