Construction has begun on a new $5.9 million co-working and innovation space in inner-northern Brisbane.

The Wheelhouse, adjacent to Eat Street, in Hamilton, aims to attract a community of entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives when it opens its doors in early 2025.

Spanning more than 1170sqm across two levels, the warehouse-style building will accommodate up to 170 workers.

The facility will boast flexible workspaces, collaborative meeting rooms, town hall and event spaces, and a communal kitchen area, offering a versatile setting for professionals.

Queensland business Bridgeman was awarded the multi-million contract to deliver the project, which is funded by Economic Development Queensland.

It is part of a $12 billion urban renewal within the Northshore Hamilton Priority Development Area, which aims to transform the former industrial site into a vibrant mixed-use precinct.
