Queensland businesses have returned to one of the world’s largest trade fairs for the first time since COVID.

State Trade Minister Ros Bates said HOFEX 2025, in Hong Kong, was one of the events on a week-long trade mission to China, which included 17 meetings with key stakeholders in trade, investment, and education in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

“HOFEX 2025 is one of the world’s biggest trade fairs, attracting more than 1200 exhibitors from 27 countries and over 30,000 buyers expected to attend,” Minister Bates said.

She said the Taste of Queensland Pavilion would showcase more than a dozen Queensland businesses to one of the world’s largest markets.

“Queensland food and beverage exports to China total $1.7 billion a year.”

Minister Bates said exhibitors included beef and honey producers to artisan smallgoods and organic spirits, with the Queensland presence at the global trade show the first for five years.

“This trade mission, and this event in particular, is about putting Queensland producers back in front of international buyers,” she said.
