Investors will join business leaders, founders, fund managers and global decision-makers when #CapTech2026 Australia arrives in Brisbane in September.

The event will be hosted in Brisbane on September 28, 2026, following the Sydney program which runs from September 24–25.

Hosted by SIPBN (Sydney Investors Professionals Business Network), #CapTech is designed to connect capital with opportunity – creating meaningful introductions between investors, high-growth companies, policymakers, business leaders and innovators.

Among this year’s high-profile speakers are Judo Bank and Malu Health Group Co-founder Joseph Healy, EMR Capital Executive Chairman Owen Hegarty OAM, and IvyCap Ventures Founder and Managing Partner Vikram Gupta.

For investors, #CapTech2026 offers access to curated deal flow, emerging investment opportunities, global networks and direct conversations with companies seeking capital and strategic growth partners.

Why investors attend #CapTech2026

Investors attending the Brisbane program will have the opportunity to:

  • Access curated deal flow across high-growth companies and emerging sectors
  • Meet founders and business leaders actively seeking capital
  • Connect with family offices, venture capital, private equity, institutional investors and global funds
  • Explore co-investment and strategic partnership opportunities
  • Gain exposure to opportunities across resources, critical minerals, infrastructure, space, defence, technology, health and financial services
  • Build relationships with Australian and international investors, executives and policymakers
  • Participate in a deliberately curated environment focused on meaningful introductions — not simply networking.

Joseph Healy

Joseph Healy has built a career spanning global banking, entrepreneurship and, most recently, mental health.

Mr Healy is Co-founder and CEO of Malu Health Group, an integrated mental health practice launched in 2025.

Before Malu, he held senior executive positions at NAB, ANZ, Citibank, CIBC World Markets and Lloyds Bank. In 2016, he co-founded Judo Bank, specialising in Australia’s SME economy.

Along the way, he raised $1.5 billion from private markets, including what has been described as one of the most significant pre-revenue capital raises in Australian corporate history, enabling Judo Bank to grow and list within four years.

His move into mental health draws on a long-standing interest in human behaviour and the brain. Mr Healy holds numerous qualifications spanning banking, finance, psychology and neuroscience, as well as contemporary Chinese, Oriental and African studies. He served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland from 2015 to 2019.

Owen Hegarty OAM

Owen Hegarty OAM is one of Australia’s most experienced resources and mining leaders, with more than 50 years of experience across global mining, investment and international markets.

He is Co-founder and Executive Chairman of EMR Capital, a specialist resources private equity group with investments and operations across global mining markets.

Mr Hegarty spent 25 years with the Rio Tinto Group, working across a broad range of commodities, businesses and international markets. His senior leadership positions included Managing Director of Rio Tinto Asia and Managing Director of the company’s Australian copper and gold business.

He later founded and led Oxiana Limited, transforming the company from a junior explorer into a significant Asia-Pacific base and precious metals producer.

Mr Hegarty has also held senior board and leadership positions across the resources sector and has served on numerous government and industry mining advisory bodies.

His participation comes at a significant time for Queensland, with growing investor focus on critical minerals, resources, energy and infrastructure opportunities.

Vikram Gupta

Vikram Gupta is the Founder and Managing Partner of IvyCap Ventures, a leading USD 650 million venture capital firm and one of India’s major home-grown venture capital platforms.

IvyCap Ventures has invested in more than 60 innovative companies across sectors including HealthTech, ConsumerTech, DeepTech, FinTech, EdTech, AgriTech and EV.

Its portfolio includes notable businesses such as Bluestone, Purplle, Snitch, Miko, FtCash, Celcius Logistics, Dhruva Space and BotSync.

Prior to IvyCap, Mr Gupta was a founding member of the Piramal-sponsored USD 100 million healthcare-focused private equity fund, which he successfully raised during the 2008 global economic downturn.
