Thousands of Australian and international agricultural technology leaders will converge on Brisbane this week.

AgriFuture’s evokeAG, the Asia-Pacific region’s premier agrifood innovation event, is being held tomorrow and Wednesday (February 18 and 19) at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Queensland Primary Industries Minister Tony Perrett said, in the lead up, a full-day AgTech Summit would be held today (February 17) to showcase Queensland’s homegrown innovation.

Minister Perrett said around 2000 delegates would gather in the city this week to showcase bold ideas, groundbreaking innovations and disruptive science shaping the future of agriculture.

He said the event would showcase Queensland’s $24 billion primary industries sector, with a strong representation of Queensland-based startups, scaleups and business leaders featuring at the event.

“The two-day conference will be book-ended by around 50 sideline events, tours and conversations across Queensland hosted by members of Queensland’s AgTech innovation community.

Minister Perrett said the goal to grow the industry to $30 billion by 2030 would not happen by operating the same way we always had.

“We need to embrace innovation, technology and disruptive science,” he said.
