Australia’s music charts have something of a changing of the guard this week with Canada’s Tate McRae and Ireland’s Fontaines D.C. both topping the charts for the first time.
McRae’s Housewife debuted at number one on the singles chart.
The song is the first single from her upcoming fourth album. Her previous best chart result was Greedy, which peaked at number 2 in 2023.
Fontaines D.C. scored their first number one on the ARIA Albums Chart with Dopamine Chamber.
Dopamine Chamber is the fifth studio album from Fontaines D.C. and their fourth time in the top 50.
Australian songstress Tina Arena returned to the albums chart with her 14th album, Way Of The World, which debuted at number 11.
It is also number three on the Vinyl Chart and number four on the Australian Albums Chart.
Arena has had nine albums in the top 10 and number one albums with Don’t Ask in 1994 and In Deep in 1997.
She has sold more than 11 million records worldwide.
Noah Kahan’s Stick Season has returned to number one on the On Replay Albums Chart, while The Killers’ Mr Brightside stays at number one on the singles chart.
