Olivia Dean’s megahit Man I Need is edging closer to becoming the longest-running number one single of all time in Australia.
The song moved back to number one last week, marking 20 non-consecutive weeks in the top spot.
The Australian Recording Industry Association said that the song was now only four weeks shy of matching the Tones and I’s 2019-20 hit Dance Monkey for the title of the longest running number one single.
Man I Need’s move back to number one unseated Rein Me In, Dean’s duet with Sam Fender, which slipped back to number two last week.
Dean’s chart dominance continued with her The Art Of Loving album moving back up from number two to number one.
It has now spent 11 non-consecutive weeks on the chart summit.
The other big mover last week was Adelaide pop star Peach PRC whose album Porcelain moved up to number four, and was also the top selling Australian album.
American country star Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas moved from number 10 to number four.
The official video released last week stars Langley, country star Miranda Lambert (who co-wrote the song), Yellowstone star Luke Grimes and Ava Phillippe, the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours continues to hold number one on the ARIA On-Replay Albums Chart and Dominic Fike’s Babydoll is at number one on singles replay.
