Australia has begun its year of Michael Jackson, with MJ The Musical underway and the biopic movie Michael to be released later this month.
Two major tribute acts from the US are also touring during 2026, including Michael Jackson – King of Pop Starring Christian Robinson and Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience.
Award-winning MJ The Musical offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Michael Jackson’s iconic Dangerous World Tour.
The show, which is currently on in Brisbane at QPAC until May 24 features more than 25 of his greatest hits, including Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Man in The Mirror and Thriller. For tickets and more information, click here.
The Michael Jackson biopic Michael will be released in Australian cinemas on April 22. The film stars Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson (son of Jermaine) as Michael.
The movie was produced with the involvement of the Jackson estate, and covers Michael’s life from his childhood in The Jackson 5 to his rise as the “King of Pop.”
The Michael Jackson – King of Pop Starring Christian Robinson show features live singing, choreographed dance moves, a live band and light show. It runs from September 2 to October 11. For details and tickets, click here.
