One of Australia’s best-selling international authors, Jane Harper, is coming to Brisbane for a conversation with audiences.
The event coincides with the release of her latest crime novel Last One Out about a grieving family and a country town haunted by its past.
A former journalist, Harper is one of Australia’s most successful contemporary authors, with her books published in 40 territories and sales surpassing 3.5 million copies.
She is the author of The Dry, Force of Nature, The Lost Man, The Survivors, and Exiles.
She was a New York Times bestselling author for The Dry, and Reese Witherspoon bought the rights to turn the book into a movie.
The Dry and Force of Nature were adapted into major motion pictures starring Eric Bana. The Survivors has also been brought to the screen as a Netflix TV series.
Her accolades include the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year, the Australian Indie Awards Book of the Year, the CWA Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel, and the British Book Awards Crime and Thriller Book of the Year.
She lives in Melbourne with her husband, their two children, and two cats.
Ms Harper said she was looking forward to the tour which also covers Melbourne, Noosa, Canberra and Geelong.
“Meeting readers is always one of my favourite parts of the whole writing and editing process,” she said.
“I hope to see you out there and I hope you enjoy the new book.”
