Opera great Jose Carreras will lead an epic concert with Robbie Williams, The Corrs, Ronan Keating, Natalie Imbruglia, Darren Hayes, Sheppard, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Vincent for one night at The Gabba.
The Carreras & Friends concert is an Australian exclusive which will bring together the internationally acclaimed stars in an open-air performance along with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and choir on December 5, 2026.
The evening will be conducted and musically directed by Keith Levenson whose career includes collaborations with The Who, Stevie Nicks, KISS and Meat Loaf.
Carreras has performed at the world’s leading opera houses including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House London, and the Vienna State Opera. He became part of music history through the legendary Three Tenors concerts alongside Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti.
The event is expected to inject $11.73 million into the economy and has been supported by the State Government as part of the Destination 2045 events fund.
Environment and Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the event would attract visitors, support local businesses and showcase the state to audiences around the globe.
Tour promoter Harley Medcalf, the Director of Echo Pacific Entertainment, said the live music experience had been inspired by Pavarotti & Friends – a renowned series of annual benefit concerts hosted by Pavarotti which brought together star performers on one stage for a night of collaboration, emotion and surprise.
“To bring Jose Carreras together with artists of this calibre for one exclusive night in Brisbane is incredibly special,” Mr Medcalf said.
“Every moment of this event has been designed to create something unforgettable.”
