FireAidLA unites music stars in twin benefit concerts

Twin benefit concerts, featuring music stars from across the decades, will be held in California this week to raise funds for LA fire victims.

From noon Friday (Brisbane time) the likes Sting, who is no stranger to benefit concerts having been part of Live Aid back in the 80s, will be joined by more modern performers such as Billie Ellish and Olivia Rodrigo for FireAidLA.

More than 20 renowned artists will perform, with Lady Gaga, Rod Stewart, Katy Perry and the Red Hot Chili Pepper also set to play.

Intuit Dome: Billie Eilish, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Baby, Olivia Rodrigo, Peso Pluma, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Sting and Tate McRae.

Kia Forum: Alanis Morissette, Anderson. Paak, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Dawes, Graham Nash, Green Day, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks and The Black Crowes.


A statement on the event website said contributions made to FireAid would be managed by the Annenberg Foundation and be distributed for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California.

“The Annenberg Foundation, with decades of philanthropic leadership in our community, including rapid response, will help coordinate a team to direct funds for the greatest impact,” it stated.

The concerts will be broadcast and streamed, with Australian fans able to watch and listen on platforms, such Amazon Music/Prime Video, Apple Music, the AppleTV app, Disney+/Hulu and iHeartRadio, with the full list on the event website.
