The stage production of Finding Nemo will dive into its Australian debut at Brisbane’s Queensland Performing Arts Centre next year, with tickets on sale November 9, 2026.
The production will be brought to life through handcrafted puppetry, featuring designs by Isla Shaw and puppets by Australian puppetry company Things of Foam and Wood.
QPAC Chief Executive Rachel Healy said the production celebrated the magic of live theatre, bringing the beloved story from the screen to the stage.
“Few stories are as closely connected to Australia’s natural wonders as Finding Nemo,” Ms Healy said.
“Bringing this much-loved movie to life on stage in Queensland creates a wonderful connection between story and place.”
Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo: A 6-Minute Family Musical follows the journey of Nemo, a young clownfish, his father Marlin, and their friend Dory.
Presented as part of the Out of the Box children’s festival the production will open at the Playhouse on June 23 and run until July 11, 2027, before continuing north to the Cairns Performing Arts Centre from July 15-17, 2027.
It is directed by Liesel Badorrek, with musical direction by Michael Tyack, and featuring the book, music and lyrics by Frozen team Kirsten Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
Tickets for Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo: A 60-Minute Family Musical will go on sale to the public from Monday 9 November from 9am AEST via QPAC’s website.
