Cold Chisel has returned to the top of the Australian album charts, 50 years after the group formed in Adelaide.

The debut of Cold Chisel’s 50 Years – The Best of at the top of the ARIA charts means Australian albums have topped the sales list for four weeks in a row.

This is the best run for local artists for four years.

50 Years – The Best of is Cold Chisel’s 18th top 10 album and their sixth to top the charts.

ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said Cold Chisel was part of an “extremely exclusive club” of artists with this level of chart success.

Melbourne-based band Telenova’s Time Is A Flower entered the charts this week at number 23. Perth’s The Southern River Band are new at number 48.

The full chart roundup is on the ARIA website.
