Fat Girl is for anyone who has ever struggled with their weight or battled body dysmorphia.

Starring Danielle Aquilina, the one-woman show is part of Brisbane’s Anywhere Festival which is designed to break down the barriers between artists and audiences to experience performances in the most unexpected places, such as bus stops, backyards, warehouses and rooftops.

Aquilina draws on her life experiences to perform Fat Girl which has been designed to challenge society’s norms.

She confronts the demons of body dysmorphia with a mix of physical theatre and black comedy.

The audience is taken on an emotional rollercoaster through the highs and lows of her journey in which she struggles to embrace her own body.

It has been designed to spark conversations about body and image, self-love, and authenticity.

It runs from August 1-3 at Leonard Street Studios, 1/44 Leonard St, Wooloowngabba. For tickets click here.
