Beetlejuice the Musical returns to Brisbane in 2026, with tickets still available for the show which runs from June 7 to August 2 at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC.
Based on Tim Burton’s hit 1988 Academy Award-winning movie, the Brisbane season follows an international tour and stars Broadway actor Andy Karl as Beetlejuice.
Karl is best known for his work in Groundhog Day, Rocky the Musical, Pretty Woman the Musical, Legally Blonde the Musical, and Moulin Rouge.
The play tells the story of Lydia Deetz played by Karis Oka, a quirky teenager obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.”
Lucky for Lydia, her new home is haunted by a recently deceased couple and a degenerate demon with a thing for stripes.
When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away her insufferable parents, he comes up with the perfect plan involving an exorcism, a girl scout and a netherworld of pandemonium.
The performance features an original score by Australia’s own Eddie Perfect, direction by two-time Tony Award-winner Alex Timbers, and choreography by Connor Gallagher.
Preview performances from June 7 to 11 are priced at a special rate of $75 to $119.
