Queensland Barrister Anna Bertone has been appointed as a Judge to the Brisbane Registry of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
For the past 10 years, Judge Bertone has been a Barrister and Advanced Specialist Family Law Arbitrator at Quay 11 Chambers and will commence her new role on June 3, 2024.
The Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2), William Alstergren said Judge Bertone brought 30 years of experience in family law in both Queensland and Western Australia.
Her appointment came as former Queensland Solicitor Simone Bingham was appointed as a Judge to the Melbourne Registry of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
Chief Justice Alstergren said Judge Bingham came to the Court with a wealth of experience and expertise in employment and other areas of civil law after almost 20 years at the Victorian Bar and a decade in practice before that, starting out in Queensland.
