Items from the vast private collection of “Mr. Paparazzi” Darryn Lyons have been put up for auction.
The collection includes items from motorsport, music, sport and television, some connected to figures like former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, television star Simon Cowell and sporting stars like Shane Warne and David Beckham.
Mr Lyons is a businessman, photographer, media personality and former Geelong Mayor.
Lloyds Auctions announced the auction today and said the collection included supercars and luxury watches, designer fashion, antiques, wine, fine art and memorabilia.
Centrepoints are Mr Lyons’ Lamborghini Diablo, rare Ferrari Spider and a mix of luxury, celebrity-linked and personal collectables,
There are also watches from Rolex, Franck Muller and Jacob & Co, designer items from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier and Balenciaga, signed sporting memorabilia, photography collectables, antiques and “luxury entertaining pieces”.
The collection spans decades of buying and collecting across London, Paris, Saint-Tropez, New York, Dubai, Africa and Australia.
“The collection has been assembled clearly reflecting Lyons’ long association with celebrity culture, luxury assets, elite sport, international travel and high-profile social circles,” Lloyds said in a statement.
“The auction series brings together personal collectables, estate pieces and high-interest luxury items in what is one of the more diverse private collections to come to market through Lloyds Auctions.”
Lloyds Auctions Chief Operations Officer Lee Hames said the collection crossed many worlds.
“Darryn Lyons has lived a highly public life, but these items provide another layer of context around the people, places and experiences that shaped it,” he said.
“What makes it interesting is not just the brands or the asset types, but the stories behind how the pieces were acquired and the life they reflect.”
