Australian folk and indie pop duo Angus and Julia Stone have debuted at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart with their new album Karaoke Bar.
The siblings have now landed in the top 10 with all six of their albums. They were previously at number one in 2010 with Down the Way and in 2014 with Angus & Julia Stone.
“We’re blown away to hear that Karaoke Bar is the number one album in Australia,” the duo said in a statement released by ARIA.
“We’ve been making music together for such a long time, and to still be able to share new songs and have people connect with them in this way feels incredibly special.”
On the Singles Chart, Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas has racked up its 13th non-consecutive week at number one.
This is a record for a country song on the main charts.
Previously Morgan Wallen’s Last Night topped the charts for eight weeks in 2023 and Billy Ray Cyrus’ Achy Breaky Heart was number one for seven weeks in 1992.
South African-born, Melbourne-based singer Ecca Vandal’s second album, Looking For People To Unfollow, is at number one on the Vinyl Chart, number two on the Australian Albums Chart and number 12 on the main album chart.
Victorian hard rock band Airbourne’s self-titled sixth album is at number 19 on the Albums Chart, number three on the Australian Albums Chart and number five on the Vinyl Chart.
Michael Jackson’s Thriller continues to top the On Replay Albums Chart.
Bruno Mars’ is back at number two with his 2010 album Doo-Wops & Hooligans off the back of the announcement of his 2027 tour.
