Australian Christian College Moreton is celebrating the success of two of its young baseball stars in the recent Australian Little League Championship.

Evan Grobler and Porter Cox helped represent Brisbane North against some of Australia’s top young baseball talent, delivering standout performances in the prestigious national tournament.

Eleven-year-old pitcher Evan Grobler produced one of the tournament’s most memorable performances, throwing a no-hitter in Brisbane North’s emphatic 10-0 victory over Melbourne Athletics.

His stat line included:

  • 5 innings pitched
  • 0 hits conceded
  • 0 walks
  • 0 earned runs
  • 14 strikeouts

His 14 strikeouts set a new tournament record.

Across the championship, Evan pitched 9.2 innings, recording an impressive 27 strikeouts while allowing just three hits. He also hit a two-run inside-the-park home run.

Evan’s baseball journey began at age five in South Africa, where he represented Gauteng in both Under-10 and Under-12 competitions. In 2025, he represented South Africa at the World Championship in Taiwan before continuing his success in Australia.

“It was really fun meeting and making new friends and playing against Australia’s top teams,” Evan said.

“I could never have enjoyed and played the way I did without the help from my team and our great coaches.”

Porter Cox, 12, also made a significant impact throughout the championship after helping Brisbane North secure a runner-up finish at the Queensland State Championships and qualify for nationals.

The talented pitcher delivered one of the tournament’s standout displays on the mound, recording 11 strikeouts in just four innings, demonstrating the skill and composure that have helped establish him as one of Queensland’s promising young baseball players.
