The new Suttons Beach Pavilion at Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, has moved a step closer to completion.
Around 160 cubic metres of concrete is now being poured for the ground floor slab of the new building
This follows the completion of piling, building of the elevator pit foundation, laying the ground facilities for power and water and relocating the rotunda to a new spot on the site.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the new pavilion would breathe new life into the much-loved seaside precinct.
“I can’t wait to see the new pavilion open to the public and the enhanced employment, economic and tourism benefits it will deliver for our city,” he said.
The pavilion will have a mix of new indoor and outdoor food and beverage options.
The redevelopment project includes construction of the new pavilion building and revitalisation of the park area.
The building will feature a rooftop space and public viewing deck with views out to the ocean.
The Australian and Queensland Governments are jointly funding $12.1 million through the South East Queensland (SEQ) Liveability Fund, with Council also contributing to the Suttons Beach Pavilion Redevelopment Project.
Construction of the pavilion structure is due for completion around mid-2027, weather permitting.
